A trek guide is always there to guide you.There is also an enchanting waterfall just 3 km's from the home stay and also a bird sanctuary where you can witness various birds of different species. You can photograph them or just sit and spend some time listening to the chirping of birds flying freely in the sky or resting on the trees.
You can even spend your time lazing around in the home stay. You can go for a farm walk and even try your hands in farming. They have various varieties of flowers, vegetables and fruits growing in their farm. Seeing such real greenery around and one realizes the value of agriculture and of nature.

At “Blooming Retreat”, they conduct an exciting and exclusive residential Cookery Course exclusively meant for the guests at their home, lead by the food specialist Mrs. Rajee Tomy who will introduce you to the nuances of Kerala cooking. You get to do it along with others who share your passion for food, in a relaxing environment. All of the recipes of the food prepared during the classes are provided alongside. Catering classes are offered in basic, popular Kerala dishes with special focus on the non vegetarian items and include a wide variety of traditional Kerala cuisine such as chapati, appam, rice noodles, fish curry, chicken dishes, cutlets, etc.
They have made the course duration and timings flexible to suit the comfort and convenience of valued guests.

“Blooming Retreat Homestay” is a 150 year old ancestral home. Spread in 2 acre of land, “Blooming Retreat Homestay” is blessed with nature’s bounty. Unending expanse of cardamom, rubber and tea plantations provides a sweet aroma of the spice scented cool air which rejuvenates one’s soul with newness.
“Blooming retreat” is a five room homestay which is looked after by Mr. Tommy Joseph, the owner of the home stay. The guests here are not treated as mere tourists but as a part of family. The food is served directly from their family kitchen.
All the rooms are quite spacious with double beds with attached washrooms where each room can easily accommodate. There is a dining room too, where all the meals are served. Outside the rooms there is a wide and spacious balcony where one can sit and relax while breeze from the trees kisses one’s face. One can enjoy the tea time at balcony
The home stay is surrounded by various varieties of flowers and trees like litchi, rambutan, strawberry and amla. There is also a farm in the property with Garden fresh vegetables & fruits like cabbage, beans, potato, cauliflower and bananas from the plantation farm.
The thing that makes “Blooming Retreat” distinctive of other home stays is that it provides you a family environment where you feel like a own part of their family. Food is prepared in their own kitchen and enjoyed by altogether by all the family members and the guests.
In the breakfast Rice noodles with Egg curry, Dosa, Idli with Chutneys and Pickles, Puttu with Kadala curry, etc are items are served.
Lunch consists of a typical vegetarian meal of Rice with Sambar, Thoran, Avail and Pappad. Chappathi with vegetarian or non- vegetarian curries like Stew and Korma are served for dinner. Besides, tea and snacks like Vada and Cutlet are served in the evening. All the meals are rich in coconut.
Plus all the dishes are farm fresh devoid of any toxicity. The taste of home grown spices like cardamom and vegetables & fruits like cabbage, beans, potato, cauliflower and bananas etc is what adds to the scrumptious taste of food.
Ideally located at 3500 ft above sea level, “Blooming Retreat” is easily accessible from the Munnar – Kochi National Highway (NH 49).It is situated just 10 km from Munnar, in the midst of cardamom plantations and is nestled in a perfectly calm and cool environment, surrounded by hills and dales, rivers and waterfalls.
